Whatever normal is

We’re all breathing a sigh of relief now that Mom is back and things are returning to normal. Sounds like she had a really good trip. The English weather even cooperated. Unfortunately an over-zealous Customs official confiscated her clotted cream and homemade blackberry jam. At least they let her keep the chocolate and Ready brek.

Yep I’m back. Yep I had a great time. Yep the house was clean when I got home (I can only imagine what it may have looked like BEFORE I returned, but hey, if I didn’t see it then it’s ok;)
But actually no, I was able to keep the home-made blackberry jam that I made and could have probably stashed ANYTHING inside of, but they did confiscate my Dad’s flower bulbs, along with a warning stating that they COULD fine me $400.00 per bulb.
    Oh how generous.
I’m so glad our country is safe from the likes of my Dad’s sterilized-hot water treated-approved-by-Prince-Charles-himself, flower bulbs …

But thanks everyone for your welcome back comments – it will be good to catch up.

And the clotted cream? I remember clotted cream from long ago in England – and the memory is so good.

Yes the Customs guy did take away Janet’s clotted cream. It would have been so good with the blackberry jam on a freshly baked scone, with a cup of properly steeped tea.

    I.E. a Cream Tea.

They do sell a clotted cream product at Safeway. I think they call it Devonshire Cream. It’s OK, but not like the fresh stuff.

Oh, I figured that clotted cream was something she puts on her face!
