Summer of Sacketts

Many decades ago, when I was in my teens and 20s, I read a fair number of western novels, including several by Louis L’Amour. However it had been many years since I read my last western. Until yesterday while browsing through the used book sale at the public library where I came across Sackett’s Land, the first book in L’Amour’s Sackett series.

I really intended to only read the 1st chapter last night, but kept on till the last page, some time after midnight.

I’ve decided that this summer I’m going to read as many of the Sackett novels as I can. Dostoevsky can wait till fall.

speaking of westerns…do you still have our DVD copy of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly?

Lisa, I thought I’d returned that DVD a long time ago, but after a search and some enquiries I discovered that Luke has it.

    Sorry about that.

Looks like we might make it to Pigeon Lake in August, so we could bring it at that time. Unless Steve is needing a fix of Clint Eastwood, in which case we could mail it to you.

No worries. We just bought the Rambo VHS collection at a garage sale…that’ll keep him busy for now. :) If Hillary makes it home before she goes back to school, she could bring it over too.
