Number 200 on the list – dead last – is logger/lumberjack.

The top 10 are mostly Dilbertesque jobs, like mathematician (1), actuary (2), and statistician (3).

I really doubt that the average artist (80), actor (170), choreographer (161) or even member of the clergy (70) would trade their job for that of a mathematician.

Something tells me that the study was designed by left-brain people.

Our elk hunt was semi-successful. If the rut has started, we didn’t have much evidence, since about the only bugling we heard was the attempts of other hunters. However Glenn saved us from being skunked by shooting a big fat cow elk that came to his Hootchie Mama call. Unfortunately I didn’t have a camera along, until Glenn and Mike picked up one of those cheap disposable cameras for me when they did the meat run.

Unfortunately I came back from the hunt having picked up a dilly of a cold. It’s deep in my chest, and really not much fun at al. I’ve been seriously thinking of not going to Slave Lake for the WESBOGY meeting, but if I’m not feeling worse by tomorrow, I think it will be a go.

So once again, things will be quiet around here for awhile. I realize most of my readers (including the spammer bots) may not be interested in forest growth & yield technicalities, so I’ll probably spare you of insights gained this week.

Early tomorrow I’ll drive to Edmonton for a couple of work-related meetings. Thankfully the Alberta snow storm seems to have ended so the roads shouldn’t be dangerous. If things are on schedule I should be back in P.A. around 11:00 Thursday night.

Then Friday early I’ll be off to Minnedosa, Manitoba, for the annual meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Canada, as one of Gateway Covenant Church’s delegates. Unfortunately I can’t car-pool with the other delegates, since they’ll be leaving Thursday. However I can still feel environmentally virtuous because I’ll be driving the little second car we bought last week – a four-year-old Hyundai Accent.

Back in P.A. late Sunday.

Lots of driving for a home-body. At least my cold is easing up.
